NAEM's Courses

Training Activities

NAEM is mainly responsible for providing institutional management training to heads of institutions and education functionaries and for conducting research and policy studies on education related issues. In addition, it conducts Foundation Training Courses to officers of BCS Education Cadre, and Research Methodology Courses to education functionaries interested in and with an aptitude for research. The length of the courses as given below, varies from two weeks to two months. As a number of courses run simultaneously, the faculty members keep busy throughout the year.

Educational Administration and Management Training

This is a three-week long course with a focus on educational administration including financial, personnel and office management for education managers working at all types of secondary and higher education institutions.

Foundation Training Course

This is a two month long course for newly recruited BCS Education Cadre Officers.The purpose of the course is to give the participants an insight into the country, its land and people, its culture, and the government. Besides, this course includes co-curricular activities, like physical exercises early in the morning, games and sports, cultural competition, short study tour, own village, office attachment programe and formal dinners. NAEM faculty members supervise all these activities and work from morning till evening.

 Computer Applications Course

This is a two weeks long certificate course for all officers under MoE and Secondary & Higher Secondary level teachers. It deals with basics of computer applications with emphasis on hands-on-experience.

Education Administration Course

Designed and organized for the administrators working at different levels of education administration, the clientele of this course encompasses the Directors, Deputy Directors, Assistant Directors, District Education Officers working under different Directorates under the MoE. The focus of the course content is on general administration and various issues related to educational administration. This is a one-week course.

Research Methodology Course

This is a four-week course for young officers of the BCS Education Cadre showing outstanding performances in the Foundation Training Courses and also having an aptitude for education research. The objective of the course is to equip the participants with the knowledge and skill essential for conducting research studies on educational issues. The other objective is to create a critical mass of education researchers who can extend research support for educational plan and, policy formulation.

Refreshers Course

This course is designed for the field-level education managers (the heads of post- primary educational institutions) who undergoes the Educational Administration and Management Courses described above. The objective of holding this course is to update the trainees regarding education administration and management.

Education Planning and Development Course

Designed for the functionaries working in the different agencies under the MoE, this One week course aims at building capacity of formulating education plan by imparting to them the knowledge and skill of planning techniques.

Library Planning and Management Training Course

This course is designed for the librarians and assistant librarians of government and non-government secondary and higher education institutions. A course of two weeks duration, this course aims at enabling the librarians to run and manage the libraries more efficiently and updating their knowledge and skill regarding library management.

Communicative English Course

NAEM conducts two weeks long Communicative Course for the English teachers at the school and college level.

Project Management Course

NAEM runs a one week long Project Management Course for the Functionaries in different offices and projects under MoE.

Financial Management Course

This is a week long course designed for the officers and staff working under different projects.
